A lot of death lately, it's very sad.  I wonder what was on Carlin's calendar for later this week or sometime next?  Was he meaning to buy a new pair of shoes or did he want to take his cat in for shots?  Was he looking at a new car or did he make a mental note to call his Son or Daughter and tell them he loves them?

Today's activity with the kids was indoor based (because it was a friggin' 105-degrees outside for the 4th day in a row!!!!!) was making salsa and strawberry lemonade.

First, the salsa:

5 cans diced tomatoes
3 cans stewed tomatoes
1 small can mild chilies
2 bunches of green onions sliced thinly
1 bunch cilantro
1 tablespoon garlic powder
Dash cummin
Juice of 1/2 lime

No secret here, just mix it up by hand until it tastes right...  Chill and serve cold.

Next Strawberry lemonade:

A lot of ice
Juice of 10 lemons, no pulp
dice up about 10 large strawberries
Water
Sugar

Mix it up until it up until it tastes right, simple as that...  Garnish with a mint leaf if you have one...
